ABSTRACT: For a d.c.-a.c. converter a control circuit is proposed which improves the efficiency of the con- verter and enables it to operate at a higher frequency using the same semiconductor switches. For this pur- pose the residual voltage across the currently conduc- tive switch is compared with a reference voltage via an analog OR-gate and the control signal for the conduc- tive switch is controlled in such a way that the residual voltage is set to a desired value. The conver- ter with the control circuit is extremely suitable for use as a high-efficiency power-supply for fluorescent lamps and occupies the smallest possible volume.
