ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A circuit arrangement for controlling a magnetron of a microwave oven comprises a high voltage transformer, for connection to the magnetron and having a primary winding and only one switching element connected in series with the primary winding for controlling energization thereof. The switching element comprises a triac or a relay switch and is controlled by a Large Scale Integrated Circuit which con- trols the energization of the magnetron in accordance with a programme introduced therein through manual control.
