Abstract A control device for a pump with adjustable flow comprises a control valve (32) with a servo input (38). A safety valve (40) responds in the case of a fault, separates the servo input (38) from a servo conduit (41) at servo pressure (P2), and connects it to an auxiliary conduit (27) at a resetting pressure (P3). A resetting pressure generator (28) can be actuated depending on the position of the adjusting apparatus (9) and, until reaching the zero position, delivers a resetting pressure (P3) of such a size that the control valve (32) is moved in a direction driving the adjusting apparatus (9) to the zero position. In this way, one obtains automatic resetting to the zero position when there is a fault. Fig. 1.
