Appareil de commande d'un moteur électrique polyphasé (M), comprenant d'une part deux interrupteurs statiques bidirectionnels (IS1, IS2) associés chacun à un pôle de contacteur de shuntage (S) monté en parallèle, ces interrupteurs (IS1, IS2, S) étant pilotés par un circuit de commande (C) assurant un fonctionnement gradué du moteur, caractérisé en ce que le contacteur de shuntage (S) est de type tétrapolaire et porte des pièces de connexion massives (6, 7) reliant chacune deux bornes dudit contacteur, ces pièces de connexion (6, 7) étant reliées par paires (L1, L3) aux bornes des interrupteurs statiques (IS1, IS2) de manière que chacun (1S1 ou IS2) soit connecté à deux pôles.
