ABSTRACT A control for unlocking an adjustment mechanism of an adjustable seating device has a mount to enable the control to be disposed in an accessible position for the user and remote from the mechanism. A force transfer element, preferably a Bowden cable is employed from the control to perform an unlocking operation. The control has a release lever which, to unlock and relock the adjustment mechanism after seat adjustment, is movable by the user and always operated by applying force in the same direction which leads to ease of operation. 27
