CONTROL KNOB ADAPTER ABSTRACT An adapter for a valve control knob which will permit the positioning of the control knob in the desired "off" position irrespective of the configuration of the valve stem member of a valve unit. The valve adapter includes a com- partment for frictional engagement with a valve system also has a projecting portion for engagement with the control knob. The adapter of this invention is particularly suitable for use with a valve stem having a D-shaped shaft and has a complementary compartment for receiving the shaft. In one embodiment, the projecting member of the adapter is of a rectangular or square shape and in another embodiment it is rounded with splines extending from the surface.
