ABSTRACT A control memory containing both a PLA (Programmable Logic Array) type structure and a ROM type structure for storage of control words. The ROM type structure is accessed by address inputs from the next address field on the control words stored in the memory. The PLA section of the memory is accessed by the same address inputs plus inputs from the computer's instruction register making the accessed control word a function of the current computer instruction. The selection between the PLA type structure or the ROM type structure is made by decoding certain bits of the address input.
