CONTROL METHOD AND APPARATUS Abstract of the Disclosure In a control method wherein a control signal is generated in responsive to the deviation of a process variable signal from a setpoint signal and the time integral over this deviation, the windup of the respective controller is prevented by automatically modifying this deviation by a signal representative of the difference between the control signal and the process control signal such as to reduce the deviation of the process variable signal from the setpoint signal by an amount represent- ative of the difference mentioned.
