A control method and system for a controllable pitch marine propeller including operating modes comprised of a manoeuvering mode and a cruise mode and check modes comprised of an engine check mode and propeller check mode. The cruise mode provides for wide open throttle acceleration and power stop. Smooth transition sub-modes are provided for providing smooth transition between cruise mode and manoeuvering mode and vice versa. The system operates by a lever (28) which controls a pitch control unit (10) which in turn controls engine speed and also the pitch of propeller blades (12) of propeller (14). Thus, dependent on the position of the control lever (28) in either manoeuvering mode or cruise mode, an appropriate engine speed and propeller pitch is selected automatically for driving a watercraft.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un système de commande d'hélice marine à pas contrôlable. Ce système et ce procédé comprennent des modes de fonctionnement constitués par un mode de manoeuvre (102) et un mode de croisière (103), ainsi que des modes d'arrêt composés d'un mode d'arrêt moteur (104) et d'un mode d'arrêt hélice (105). Ce mode de croisière permet d'effectuer l'accélération (106) avec ouverture totale du papillon d'étranglement, et l'arrêt du moteur (107). Des modes secondaires de transition douce permettent de passer du mode de croisière au mode de manoeuvre et vice versa. Ce système fonctionne à l'aide d'un levier (28) commandant une unité de contrôle de pas qui, à son tour, commande la vitesse du moteur et également le pas des pales (12) de l'hélice (14). Ceci permet de sélectionner automatiquement pour la commande d'une embarcation, une vitesse appropriée du moteur et un pas d'hélice adéquat en fonction de la position du levier de commande soit en mode de manoeuvre, soit en mode de croisière.
