The use of various pyrethroid compounds is disclosed for the treatment of the immature phases of sea lice infestation in fish, such as salmon, and for the prophylaxis of adult sea lice infestation in such fish. Cypermethrin, high-cis-cypermethrin, lambda-cyhalothrin and deltamethrin are shown to be most effective.

L'invention concerne l'utilisation de divers composés pyréthroïdes destinés au traitement des phases immatures de l'infestation du poisson, tel que le saumon, par les poux, ainsi qu'à la prophylaxie de l'infestation d'un tel poisson par les poux à l'état adulte. La cyperméthrine, la cis-cyperméthrine fortement dosée, la lambda-cyhalothrine et la deltaméthrine se sont révélées être des composés des plus efficaces.
