An improved control panel which is resistant to the elements and to theft. The control panel comprises a faceplate and a control handle, the control handle comprises a grip portion and a rear retainer portion. The control handle is mounted on a control means and the control handle is used by the user to manipulate the control means. The control handle is mounted from behind the faceplate and in an opening in the faceplate. The rear retainer portion of the control handle makes the control handle at its largest diameter, larger than the opening in the faceplate. As a result, the control handle cannot be removed from the front of the faceplate. In addition, the rear retainer portion acts as a shield to prevent water, dirt and other elements from getting behind the control handle.
