Abstract of the Disclosure A control system and method permit simultaneous automatic and manual control of a device (e.g., a valve or valve actuator) for changing a parameter of a system, such as the fluid level in a tub of fracturing fluid used to fracture an oil or gas well. Rather than providing a control signal representing an integration of the parameter, the present invention provides a control signal representing only an error or change so that integration occurs mechanically in the device for changing the parameter. This allows the mechanical integration to be manually overridden without disrupting the automatic control which is concerned only with the resultant error or change and not the total integration.
