ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A control system controls individually the wash ratio of a wash solvent to a charge mix of solvent and waxy oil being provided to a plurality of filters being operated in parallel in a dewaxing unit. Each filter filters the wax out of the waxy oil to provide dewaxed oil. The wax cake on the filter 18 washed with solvent to remove oil from the wax. The control system includes a source providing a signal corresponding to a desired overall wash ratio. Apparatus controls the flow rates Or the charge mix being provided to the dewaxing filters. The flow rate of the charge mix being received by each filter is controlled as a function of the filtering rate of the filter. The flow rates of the wash solvent to the dewaxing filters are controlled to that each dewaxing filter wash flow is controlled in accordance with the flow rate Or the charge mix being received by the filter.
