A system and method for controlling electrical equipment mounted on a platform in a hazardous environment. Control signals are produced by a console at or near the platform that correspond to functions of the equipment. These control signals are passed to control circuitry disposed at a remote location out of the hazardous environment. The control circuitry generates corresponding output signals for controlling the operation of the equipment. Current limiting circuitry is provided between the console and the control circuitry to reduce the current of the control signals to values that will not produce sparks sufficient to ignite flammable fluids such as natural gas.

Système et méthode pour commander un appareillage électrique monté sur une plate-forme dans un environnement dangereux. Les signaux de commande sont produits par une console située sur la plate-forme ou à proximité de celle-ci.
