A control system for an A.C. TIG welder having a welding current alternating between a first polarity defining a clean current portion and a second polarity defining a weld current portion, with successive clean and weld current portions constituting a current cycle. The welder has provision to adjust the duration of the clean portion of said welding current cycle. The control system comprises storing a predetermined group of duration signals each indicative of a clean portion duration with each duration signal corresponding to a given value of the welding current; sensing the value of the welding current; selecting the clean portion duration signal corresponding to the sensed value of the current; and, adjusting the duration for the clean current portion of said current cycle to the duration indicated by the stored clean portion duration signal corresponding to the sensed value of the welding current.
La présente invention porte sur un système de commande pour soudeuse à l'électrode réfractaire TIG c.a. dont le courant de soudage alterne entre une polarité qui définit une portion de courant propre et une autre polarité qui définit une portion de courant de soudage, les portions successives de courant propre et de soudage constituant un cycle de courant. La soudeuse a une fonction qui permet de régler la durée de la portion de courant propre du dit cycle de courant de soudage. Le système de commande enregistre un groupe prédéterminé de signaux de durée, chacun des groupes indiquant la durée de la portion propre et chacun de ces signaux correspondant à une valeur donnée de courant de soudage; détecte la valeur du courant de soudage; sélectionne le signal de durée de la portion propre correspondant à la valeur de courant détectée et règle la durée de la portion propre du dit cycle de courant en fonction de la durée indiquée par le signal enregistré de la portion propre qui correspond à la valeur détectée du courant de soudage.
