ABSTRACT A control system for controlling a camera including a transmitter for providing a plurality of function signals, respective control functions of the camera, a signal transmission path, for serially transmitting the plurality of function signals, and a receiver for executing the control function of the camera in accordance with the transmitted function signals. The control system for controlling a plurality of cameras includes a transmitter for providing a plurality of function signals, representing respective control functions of the camera and a selection signal representing a selected one of the cameras, to be controlled a signal transmission path for sereally transmitting the plurality of function signals and the selection signal, and a receiver for executing the control function of the selected camera in accordance with the transmitted function signals and selection signal.
