Abstract: In a control system for an internal combustion engine, the amount of fuel is determined on the basis of the depression of an accelerator pedal, and the amount of air is determined on the basis of the amount of fuel, while the changing amounts of the fuel and air are corrected by the changing rate of the depression of the accelerator pedal. The result is a system that affords improved acceleration characteristics without increasing the noxious components in the exhaust gas.
