ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A control system for a piston membrane pump having a pressure chamber is mounted on one side of the membrane, into which chamber a controllable loading and unloading device communicates, computing means connected to the loading and unloading device. Calculations occur in the computer that, dependent on, for example, the actual position of the membrane, the velocity of the membrane, the acceleration thereof, the pressure in the pressure chamber, the beat- frequency of the pump, etc., to determine the length of time for respective delay periods occurring before loading and unloading periods, during which periods hydraulic medium is brought into or allowed out of the pressure chamber by the loading and unloading device.
