ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Regulation of a continuous process, utilizing one or more control devices, with continuous regulation by way of an automatic control system responsive to variations in one or more significant variable parameters of the process, is enhanced by the provision of a manually or automatically initiated bang-bang control arranged to provide an additional control incremental to the continuous automatic control means in order to enhance the quality of regulation of the process, the relative magnitude of the bang-bang increment being restricted to ensure the maintenance of adequately stable control and regulation of the process.
