ABSTRACT An electronic resistance device comprising an amp- lifier having an input and an output and a voltage divider including a first resistor and a second resistor connected in series between a first and second terminal. The amp- lifier input is connected to the junction of the first and second resistors and a third resistor connects the amp- lifier output to the first terminal. The second resistance is adjustable in response to an applied control signal so as to thereby adjust the value of the electronic resistance device.
