The roll shell consists of two parts or elements which are coaxially interconnected by friction, and specifically, an inner base body and an outer sleeve. The outer surface of the base body and the inner surface of the sleeve can contain substantially cylindrical stepped surfaces facilitating the mounting or insertion of the sleeve upon the base body and the withdrawal of the sleeve from the base body with the aid of a pressurised fluid medium.
