The present invention includes systems and methods for the controlled deployment of software in a web-based environment where multiple versions of a single application are supported to provide field experience of various versions before general deployment. The systems and methods of the invention support backwards compatibility, which allows older versions of the same software to be accessed concurrently with newer (revised) versions. Likewise, data item opaqueness is supported whereby data items not recognized by a software level or tier are not rejected but are passed on to another tier or level where they may be recognized.

La présente invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés destinés au déploiement contrôlé de logiciels dans un environnement Web, permettant la prise en charge de plusieurs versions d'une même application, de manière à apporter une expérience pratique des diverses versions avant un déploiement général. Les systèmes et les procédés de l'invention assurent la compatibilité en amont, ce qui permet d'accéder simultanément aux anciennes et aux nouvelles versions (versions révisées) d'un même logiciel. De même, l'opacité des données est prise en charge; les données qui ne sont pas reconnues par un niveau du logiciel ne sont pas rejetées mais transmises à un autre niveau où elles peuvent être reconnues.
