The controlled radical (co)polymerization of (meth)acrylic and/or vinyl monomers is characterized by the bulk, solution, emulsion or suspension polymerization or copolymerization of at least one of the above-mentioned monomers at a temperature as low as 0°C in the presence of a priming system. The system consists of a radical generator and at least one catalyst made up of a metal complex with a [C6H2(CH2NR1R2)2-2,6-R3-4 -(I)-type ligand in which R1 and R2, whether they are identical or different, represent an alkyl group in C1-C4, whether or not they are branched, or a phenyl group, or R1 and R2 form a cyclical amine with the nitrogen atom they are bonded to, or both R2s together form a polymethylene bridge, and R3 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl or benzyl group or a functional group that donates or accepts electrons.

Le procédé de (co)polymérisation radicalaire contrôlée de monomères (méth) acryliques et/ou vinyliques se caractérise en ce qu'on polymérise ou copolymérise en masse, solution, émulsion ou suspension, à une température pouvant descendre jusqu'à 0°C, au moins un desdits monomères en présence d'un système d'amorçage comprenant un composé générateur de radicaux et au moins un catalyseur constitué par un complexe de métal comportant un ligand du type [C6H2(CH2NR1R2)2-2,6-R3-4]- (I) dans lequel: R1 et R2, identiques ou différents, représentent un groupe alkyle en C1-C4, ramifié ou non ou un groupe phényle, ou bien R1 et R2 forment avec l'atome d'azote auquel ils sont reliés une amine cyclique ou bien les deux R2, pris ensemble, forment un pont polyméthylène et R3 représente un atome d'hydrogène, un groupe alkyle, benzyle ou un groupe fonctionnel donneur ou accepteur d'électrons.
