An implantable device (10) of porous material has a primary lumen (12) for defining, when implanted, a fluid flow pas- sage, and ae least one secondary lumen (12'). The device may contain bioactive material, e.g., a therapeutic or diagnostic agent, in a secondary lumen (12') for sustained release of the material into a fluid flow pathway of a patient. A secondary lumen (12') may substantially surround the primary lumen (12) and be filled with a reseslable elastomer, allowing repeated puncture of the pros- thesis without leakage. One or more secondary lumens (12') may extend parallel to the primary lumen (12) and contain marker material that is remotely detectable to indicate potency of the primary lumen. A plurality of the lumens may serve as parallel, sep- arate flow passages so the device operates as a multi-capillary body. The device may be formed so that one or more of the lumena are relasably separable from the others, at least along s part of their longitudinal extent.
