RCA 76,181 ABSTRACT A digital signal processor uses a RAM (22) for signal processing. The RAM (22) has a transfer function stored in its memory locations. This allows the transfer function to be easily changed by either hardwired circuitry (28,32,34,40,42,44,50,52,54,60) or a microprocessor (302). Two RAMs (22x,22y) per channel can be used, one processing the signal, while the other has its transfer function changed. The operations of the RAMs (22;22x,22y) can be changed during a portion of the input signal, e.g. blanking times, when the change is not objectionable.
