A method of reducing malodours in an ostomy bag comprises associating a malodour counteractant with a carrier. The carrier is one which, when subjected to high humidity and a temperature above about 37°C, becomes fluid and releases the malodour counteractant within the bag. Embarrassing odours are thus reduced or avoided.
