ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Needle-suture combinations are provided which can be separated without the necessity of cutting with scissors; the needle-suture combinations comprise a needle having a recess at the blunt end and a monofilament suture, one end of which is re- ceived within said recess and the blunt end is swaged whereby the end is compressed; the needle-suture combinations have individual straight pull-out values of from about 3 ounces to about 26 ounces; the needle-suture combination can be provided in a multiplicity in a package wherein the average straight pull-out value is between about 9 ounces and about 15 ounces.
