A controlled superovulation method for female cattle, wherein an LHRH analogue is administered to the animal to desensitise the pituitary gland to endogenous LHRH activity, and a follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) is administered to the animal at a selected time within the resulting period of deep anoestrus to induce the recruitment and development of ovarian follicles, whereafter a hormone selected from the group consisting of LH and hCG is administered to the animal to trigger follicle ovulation. The method may be implemented using kits containing hormone preparations.
Méthode de superovulation dirigée des femelles bovines, comprenant les étapes suivantes: administrer à l'animal un analogue de la LHRH de manière à désensibiliser l'hypophyse à l'action de la LHRH endogène, à l'instant de son choix à l'intérieur de la période d'anoestrus profond ainsi induite, administrer à l'animal de l'hormone FSH de manière à induire le recrutement et le développement des follicules ovulatoires, en fin de développement, administrer à l'animal une hormone choisie parmi le groupe consistant en LH et hCG, de manière à déclencher l'ovulation de ces follicules. La méthode peut être mise en oeuvre avec des kits contenant les préparation d'hormones.
