The invention is a control system that, among other things, controls a permanent magnet alternator and provides relatively accurate voltage regulation. The control system may include one or more of the following: (1) a rectification system to rectify and regulate the output voltage of an alternator, (2) a rectifier/limiter used as an electrical power source to a boost type regulator, (3) a multimode rectifier/limiter, (4) a DC to AC inverter bridge, and (5) power switches employed in the system to minimize the switching energy that would otherwise be dissipated in the power switches as heat.

L'invention est un système de commande, qui, entre autres choses, commande un alternateur à aimants permanent et fournit une régulation de tension relativement précise. Le système de commande peut comprendre un ou plusieurs des éléments suivants: (1) un système de redressement destiné à redresser et à réguler la tension de sortie d'un alternateur, (2) un redresseur/limiteur utilisé comme source d'énergie électrique d'un régulateur de type à amplification, (3) un redresseur/limiteur multimode, (4) un pont à onduleur CC à CA et (5) des commutateurs de puissance utilisés dans le système pour réduire au minimum l'énergie de commutation qui autrement serait dissipée dans les commutateurs de puissance en tant que chaleur.
