A method and system for providing a controlled gaseous environment in the metal processing at the opening to a receiver and around a free liquid stream downwardly entering the receiver opening. The method comprises laminarly emitting at least two gas flows to extend and intersect over the receiver opening thereby forming an upward plume enveloping the free liquid stream.

Cette invention concerne une méthode et un dispositif pour l'établissement d'une atmosphère gazeuse contrôlée à l'entrée d'un creuset ou lingotière et autour d'un flux libre vertical de liquide destiné à remplir ledit creuset ou lingotière.
