- 27 - ABSTRACT A method for controlling a process for the electrolytic recovery of metals from solutions containing dissolved metals is disclosed in which the conditions of electrolysis are adjusted such that light reflected by the electrodeposit corresponds to that reflected by a preferred electrodeposit structure. The source of light may be a laser or quartz-halogen lamp and the conditions of electrolysis which may be adjusted include the concentrations of additives.
