"CONVERSION OF ASPHALTENE CONTAINING CHARGE STOCKS" ABSTRACT A process for the conversion of an asphaltene-containing hydrocarbonaceous black oil in a catalytic slurry reaction zone wherein an admixture of a light fraction containing a hydrocarbon selective solvent and a heavy fraction comprising unreacted asphaltenes, metal catalyst and deasphalted oil is formed and at least the heavy fraction is recycled to the reaction zone.
