ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The conversion of hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide in water-containing gas streams such as exhaust gases from internal combustion engines to form enviromentally innocuous products such as carbon dioxide and water is accomplished by contacting such gas streams at elevated temperatures with zeolite-based catalyst compositions which not only catalyse the oxidative combustion of the foresaid substrates that also catalyze their reaction with water.
