"CONVERSION OF MERCAPTANS CONTAINED IN A SOUR PETROLEUM DISTILLATE' ABSTRACT A method of treating a sour petroleum distillate for the con- version of mercaptans contained therein is disclosed. The distillate is treated in contact with an oxidizing agent and a catalytic composite com- prising a metal chelate mercaptan oxidation catalyst impregnated on a basic anion exchange resin.
