Abstract of the Disclosure: In a heel piece of a ski binding of the type wherein the fore end of the heel piece is pivotally connected to a base plate which is secured to the ski, a locking member is provided for releasably locking the heel piece to the base plate. When the heel piece is locked it is impossible for the skier to vertically rotate the heel piece so that the state of the ski becomes suitable for climbing up a slope whereas when the heel piece is unlocked, it is possible to vertically rotate the heel piece so that the state of the ski becomes suitable for walking or running on a horizontal surface.
