PHN. 9557 10 ABSTRACT A converter circuit for connecting to an aerial input of an RF-superheterodyne receiver, in which a wanted optical or electrical signal is selected from a number of signals at the input of the converter circuit and converted into an RF-signal, being modulated on a carrier frequency, which corresponds to the tuning frequency of said receiver. To do so automatically the frequency of the local oscilla- tion radiation, being present at the aerial input of the receiver is used for controlling both the selection of the wanted signal at the input of the converter circuit and the frequency conversion of said wanted signal. The con- verter circuit therefore comprises a frequency search circuit, for measuring the frequency of said local oscilla- tion radiation, said frequency search circuit controlling a signal selector for selecting the wanted signal as well as a modulator for modulating the wanted signal on a carrier frequency, which corresponds to the tuning frequency of the receiver.
