ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A converter of meter-gauge readings is used for auto- matic remote checking of the readings of a gas, a water or power meter-gauge. The converter serves to make a decimal- binary conversion of the readings of such a meter-gauge to enable transmission over a telephone channel. The readings of the figure-wheel in such a meter-gauge are rendered into binary codes by binary cams and the oscillation of oscillators matching the binary codes is controlled and converted to an AC signal. The frequency of the AC signal fits into the allowable frequency band of the transmitting means such as a telephone channel. The use of a power source or a complicated electric circuit is thus avoided, and the converter can be attached to the existing meter-gauge without modification.
