ABSTRACT A converter having an interchangeable crucible adapted to tilt about a tilt axis, a toothed coupling being provided for the purpose. A connecting part of the toothed coupling, coaxial with the tilt axis, may be disengaged axially when the crucible has to be replaced. The connecting part is actuated through an opening in a gear wheel which is used to tilt the crucible.
