ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention provides a convertible garment suitable for infants convertible from a bag enclosure to a pair of leg enclosures and vice versa. The garment comprises a lower enclosure for enclosing the lower torso of an infant, comprising an envelope of material including front and rear sections forming the lower enclosure. The front and rear sections are openable generally centrally of the width thereof, and along at least a major portion of the longitudinal length thereof. Engaging means are provided for releasably engaging an inner edge of the front with an inner edge of the rear section of the enclosure to form separate leg compartments. When using the garment of the present invention, it is possible to utilize a child car seat even although the infant is enclosed in a bag type enclosure. Thus, the garment can be converted from a bag type enclosure to an enclosure having separate leg compartments.
