An improved skate assembly (10) which permits interchanging and revers- ing of ice blades (40) and in-line rollers (63-67). The arrangement provides for such interchange through utilization of a pair of rotatable cams (24) which are uti- lized to couple the blade support to the toe and/or heel of the boot. Also, an interlocking notch/projection (21) may be employed to achieve secure mount- ing of the blade support subassembly to the boot. Also disclosed is an attach- ment mechanism which can be used by the hands, and which requires no exter- nal tooling.
