A solid tire assembly is releasably mountable onto a rim. The solid tire assembly has a base band having a solid tire bonded thereon, a spacer ring having an inside diameter sized to receive a rim and an outside diameter sized to engage base band and securing mechanism for releasably securing the spacer ring in place, mechanically integrating the base band to the rim.
