ABSTRACT An overhead conveyor system is disclosed of the type of production line or the like, including a plurality of work station loops individually connectable to the main track by feeder rails. Apart from being mutually connected by the main track, two or more of the work station loops are adapted for a direct interconnection therebetween, whereby two or more work station loops can be transformed into what is in effect a single loop serving a number of work stations. The interconnection is effected by switches and, if required,by bridging sections. The system is more readily adaptable to varying production sequences than known arrangements utilizing shiftable transfer rail carriers.
