A packaging machine, comprising a conveyor belt for receiving a package. The conveyor belt including a primary belt passing around a belt path, the primary belt having an inner surface and an outer surface, the outer surface for receiving a package thereon. At least one belt strap extending along substantially an entire length of the primary belt over the outer surface of the primary belt; and wherein a coefficient of friction between an outer surface of the belt strap and the bottom surface of the package is greater than a coefficient of friction between the outer surface of the primary belt and the bottom surface of the package.
