A conveying member is used in a conveying system for a recording medium in an ink recording apparatus that effects recording by the use of ink. The conveying member bears against the surface of the recording medium after printing and is rotatable. The peripheral surface of the member is of a shape in which it continuously bears against the recording medium, and the region of the member which contacts with the printing surface of the recording medium makes the bonding force with respect to the ink small relative to the bonding force between the recording medium and the ink and the cohesive force of the ink itself, thereby preventing the adherence of the ink to the continuous peripheral surface.
