CONVEYOR BELT ABSTRACT A conveyor belt composed of elastomeric material reinforced at least in part by transversely spaced, longitudinally extending, parallel cables of high modulus material designed to provide variable spacing of cables widthwise of the belt. Specifically, the edge or marginal zones of the belt each contain a series of more closely spaced cables than the portion of the belt between the margins. The belt may be further reinforced with one or more layers of fabric material.
