ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE To increase the carrying capacity of a conveyor belt having corrugated side walls for vertically conveying bulk or loose material at a steep angle, each cleat of the conveyor has a twice-angled cross- section and comprises a first straight branch approx- imately perpendicular to the conveyor belt plane, a median second branch inclined with respect to the first in longitudinal direction of the conveyor belt and an upper branch more steeply inclined branch, the cross- sectional length of the upper branch being smaller than the cross-sectional length of the median branch and also smaller than the cross-sectional length of the lowermost branch.
