ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A conveyor belting has covering rubber layers laminated to opposite sides of an array of parallel steel cores by rubber adhesive. Each layer has at opposite end regions thereof, a portion thereof removed and replaced by a readily removable substitute covering layer section having an adhesion to the steel cords which is substan- tially lower than that of the remainders of the layers, whereby the sections are readily removable from the cords by peeling to facilitate the making of a connection between the ends of the belting.
