CONVEYOR DEVICE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An accumulator conveyor is disclosed which can be of either the driven roller or wheel type. The driving belt providing the propulsion for the conveyor is supported on regulating devices each of which has a rotatable section flanked on each end by a rotatable wheel-like circular feeler. The rotatable sections are circular except for a flattened portion providing an area of reduced radius. The feelers are spaced apart such that the belt is seated on the rotatable section between them. A lost motion connection interconnects one or both of the feelers with the rotatable section. In the case of a wheel conveyor, the feelers contact the articles moving along the conveyor. When an article becomes stalled over one of the regulating devices, the feelers also stall which in turn, through the lost motion connection, stops rotation of the rotatable section with the flat section upper- most, permitting the belt to drop out of engagement with the article. When article movement is resumed, the feelers release the rotatable section which then resumes rotation shifting the belt back into drive position. The operation is the same in the case of a roller conveyor except the con- tact of the feelers and the belt is with the rollers forming the conveying surface rather than with the article. The regulating devices are resiliently mounted to permit automatic vertical adjustment which is particularly important in the case of wheel conveyors to assure adequate contact with articles having irregular bottom surfaces.
