A conveyor lubricating apparatus (10) which includes a roller member (18, 18, 20, 52) to distribute a lubricant on a belt-type conveyor (12) . In one embodiment, the lubricant is dispensed onto a roller which is employed to distribute the lubricant on the belt. In another embodiment, a combined dispensing and roller device distributes the lubricant on the conveyor belt.
