ABSTRACT A conveyor roller (1, 40) comprising a hollow cylindrical roller body (2) with a pair of end plates (3) mounted on the roller body (2). Each end plate (3) is received within and engaged by one of the free ends (13) of the roller body (2). The free ends (13) are bent radially inwardly to engage a circumferential slot (10) in the rim (7) of each end plate (3). A rubber sealing ring (30) may be provided in the slot (10). A support spindle (4, 42) rotatably supports the roller body (2), the support spindle (4, 42) engaging with bearings (17) and associated seals (18) mounted in inwardly facing recesses (16) in the end plates (3).
